On Thursday, April 23rd, our school community gathered at St. Paul’s Bloor St. for a Founder’s Day that felt particularly momentous. This year holds profound significance as we celebrate the centenary of the laying of our original cornerstone at Lawrence and Avenue Road—a hundred-year legacy of community and excellence.
Founder’s Day is the one time each year when our entire school comes together to celebrate as one. The energy this year was elevated by fantastic choirs from Junior, Middle and Senior schools and by Dr. Samson’s reflection on the Artemis II Space Mission. As we watched individuals literally “shoot for the moon,” we were reminded of the world’s need for bold vision and the courage to explore the unknown.
The reflections then shifted from the cosmic to the deeply personal. Liz Watt (Assistant Head of Junior School) challenged us to consider: “What if today was not just another day, but a day that someone remembers because of you?” Grade 12 student Anaya J shared a moving retrospective on their journey since Grade 8. Crediting their growth to both our expansive programs and the simple joy found in everyday moments with peers, Anaya left us with a vital takeaway: true success comes when you embrace your authentic self. She tasked us all to be ‘unapologetically’ ourselves.
There is perhaps no better charge for our community than that. As we head into the weekend, we hope you find joy in the small moments and the confidence to be “unapologetically you.”
Have a lovely weekend,
Cissy, Deirdre and Krista

Bussing Interest Survey
We are always looking for ways to better support our families’ daily routines. With that in mind, we are investigating the possibility of launching a private Havergal busing service. Whether this looks like centralized pick-up points or door-to-door service, we need your input to move forward. Your feedback will help us gauge whether there is sufficient collective interest and long-term commitment to make this program a reality. You can access the survey here.
