Spring finally feels as though it is arriving, and while the countdown to the end of the year has begun, the energy across our campus suggests we are far from slowing down. These final weeks are always a mix of “hellos” and “goodbyes” as we host exchange students, dances, and art shows while simultaneously preparing for the bittersweet departures that June brings.
This week, the spirit of service was front and center. We began with speeches from our five exceptional School Captain candidates, each offering thoughtful reflections on leadership, community, and the meaning of serving others. The sheer number of students stepping forward willing to serve this community is a powerful testament to their engagement and commitment to Havergal.
From the high-energy House Shout theme reveal to our Chinese Language Day celebrations, where we welcomed the Chinese Consul General, our days have been incredibly full. It’s a privilege to watch our students work so hard to make this school a better place for everyone.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Founders’ Day – Final Reminders
We are looking forward to celebrating Founders’ Day on Thursday of next week.
Upper School students make their own way to the church and arrive by 9:15 am (227 Bloor Street East). The closest subway stations are Bloor-Yonge or Sherbourne. Students will be bused back to the school from the church.
US students (excluding Grads) must check in with their Form Teacher or Teacher Advisor upon arriving at their pews, where attendance will be taken. The Class of 2026 will be presented with their Marguerite Pins at 9:20 am in Cody Hall at St. Paul’s.
Students must wear their #1 Dress Uniform: a pressed blouse, kilt, pants, or tunic, blazer, tie, black shoes, and green socks.
Readers, Middle School & Senior Choirs have received their own instructions about this event directly from Ms. Malach.

Middle School
In MS Morning Program Next Week
On Monday:
- Our morning program will focus on staying active! Led by our guidance department, students will participate in various movement-based activities to learn how exercise boosts their overall wellbeing.
On Wednesday:
- The Grade 7s will engage with our Win@soical program and learn about study skills and how to prep for exams.
- In preparation for June’s service day, our Grade 8s will learn about the eight organizations we’ve partnered with and identify how their skills can support each organization’s specific mission.
Food Drive
On Tuesday, April 20, we will launch our Middle School Food Drive for the North York Harvest Food Bank (NYHFB). The collection runs until Thursday, May 14. In late May, Judy Reda from the organization will join us to transform Brenda Robson Hall into a sorting center. There, students will personally sort the items we’ve collected. As a reminder, our community is in high need of canned meat, seafood, pasta, and sauce, so please consider sending in dried goods to support this vital initiative.
