This week, the halls of Havergal were particularly vibrant as we celebrated our annual “Arts Week.” We opened the festivities with a beautiful Prayers featuring music, dance, and visual art, where our students shared movingly about how the arts contribute to their purpose, sense of self, and wellbeing. Our annual Art Salon was another highlight, showcasing the diverse talents of both students and staff and bringing our community together in a shared experience of beauty.
On Thursday, we were honored to welcome back alumna Nicole Leung ’15. Now a professional opera singer, Nicole moved us not only with her extraordinary gift of song but also with a hopeful message on how pursuing our unique talents—even in the face of obstacles—leads to true fulfillment.
We are profoundly grateful for the creativity that breathes life into our school every day, and for the students, faculty, and staff who make it all come alive.
I hope you have a lovely weekend,
Krista

Earth Week Thrift Shop – Clothing Donations Needed
As part of our upcoming Earth Week celebrations, students will be organizing a school thrift shop to promote sustainability, mindful consumption, and environmental responsibility within our community.
We invite families to support this initiative by donating clean, gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories that are ready for a second life. The goal of the thrift shop is to encourage reuse, reduce textile waste, and help students think more critically about how everyday choices impact the planet.
Drop-off location: Form for Change office
Donation window: Until Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Thank you for supporting this student-led effort and for helping us make Earth Week a meaningful learning experience. We appreciate your partnership in encouraging sustainable habits both at school and at home.
Spring Uniform Check
As we head into the final term, we’ve noticed many of our students have had significant growth spurts! Please take a moment to check that your daughter’s kilt sits no more than 9 cm above the knee. If a new size is needed, we highly encourage you to visit the HCPA Used Uniform Sale on Tuesday, April 21st. As a reminder, black pants are also acceptable and may be purchased from any store. Finally, patent or platform shoes are not permitted; we ask that they be replaced.
Grade 12 Bake Sale: Ahead of the Game!
Led by our Senior Year Presidents, the Class of 2026 is hosting a school-wide bake sale to support the Ahead of the Game campaign as their class gift. Please feel free to drop by at lunch and grab a few tasty treats.

In Form Programming Next Week
Our MS students will be treated to the 8 GH assembly, which will focus on the theme of Earth Week. These assemblies are the building blocks for developing leadership and presentation skills in a fun, interactive environment. The themes are curated by the students and always bring a unique energy that captures the spirit of our Middle School students. Later in the week, our MS student will attend the US Student House Assembly where each house will reveal their themes for House Shout.

UK & US University Information Session
On Thursday, April 16, from 7-9 pm, the Guidance Department will host a University information session on UK and US university applications in the Legacy Theatre. This is a great opportunity to hear more about schools in the US and the UK and how your child can start to consider their academic planning.
In Grade Programming Next Week
Grade 9s will hear from an expert who leads Ontario’s Legal Support Program for Victims of Human Trafficking. This talk will help students understand what human trafficking is, how it can happen in today’s digital world and social settings, and how to recognize potential warning signs. They will also share steps they can take if they, or a friend, ever feel at risk.
Grade 10s will be divided into two groups to focus on wellbeing skills. Half the students will be doing breath work with an outside expert, and the other half will be participating in Neurographic Art, led by our own Ms. Dwyer.
Grade 11s will have a presentation on organ donation awareness. Students will also have the chance to chat with a visiting nurse for a private Q&A session focused on healthy choices and personal wellbeing.
Grade 12s will take part in a reflective workshop with our social worker to honour their high school journey. This session provides a space to acknowledge the bittersweet feelings of leaving familiar halls and to prepare them emotionally for the transition to adulthood.
