Friday Night Lights – 7 pm

Join us for Havergal’s first-ever Friday Night Lights HC Gators face the Branksome Highlanders in a soccer game! This spirited evening is geared to Upper School students, but we’re inviting the whole HC community: parents, alumni, past parents, neighbours and friends—to come out in your best green and gold. Enjoy a drink in the Beer Tent, cheer on our athletes, support the Ahead of the Game campaign and show the Highlanders that no one outcheers Havergal in our house!

Want the best (and only) seats for the game? Bid on one of two VIP tables in the 19+ section.

Note: Parking will be extremely limited so plan to walk, TTC, carpool or Uber.

October 6th: Havergal Welcomes Jeff Selingo for our Parents as Partners Series!

Havergal is thrilled to welcome New York Times best-selling author and researcher, Jeff Selingo to speak about his new book, Dream School: Finding the College That’s Right for You. The book draws on more than two years of research and a survey of some 3,000 parents to give families permission to think more broadly about what signals a “good” college and then the tools to discover their dream school. For more than twenty-five years, his in-depth reporting and storytelling have provided practical insight about the future of higher education and the workforce to university leaders, corporate executives, as well as students and parents.

As the climate of university admissions becomes increasingly more competitive, Jeff’s research and insights will be invaluable to students and families. Jeff will be spending the school day with our faculty and students.

Click here to register for the Parent Evening event at 7:00pm Monday, October 6th.

Middle School

In Form This Week – Student Elections

This week, our Middle School assembly will focus on the leadership positions available in Middle School. No prior experience is needed, and we encourage everyone to nominate themselves for a position. We’re looking for young people who want to develop the skills to become confident leaders. Please talk with your child about these opportunities and encourage them to apply.

2024-25 Middle School Social Events

Each year, Havergal works with its Coalition of Single Sex Schools of Toronto (COSSOT) partner schools to provide a number of social opportunities. This allows them to meet and enjoy time with students from other schools, participating in activities such as bowling nights, dances, and games.

To help you with your planning, below you will find the list of dates for all MS COSSOT events for the school year. We encourage you to chat with your child about which events they’re interested in applying for and mark the date on your calendar. Every Havergal student may attend the Havergal dance; however, there are limited spaces available for all other events.

In Morning Programming This Week

This week our grade 9 students will be learning more about the election process and the leadership program at Havergal as well as finishing the Community Agreements for the Class of 2029. Our grade 10 and 11 student reps are working on special activities for their classmates.  Our Grads will be divided into groups to talk about their specific university destination, be it the US, UK or Canada.

International University Fair, Wednesday, September 24, 6:30 pm

ACTION REQUIRED: All Senior School Parents – Please complete this permission form to cover many of our events this year.

Each year, Havergal works with its COSSOT (Coalition of Single Sex Schools of Toronto) partner schools to provide a number of social opportunities for our students. This allows them to meet and enjoy time with students from other schools, participating in things like bowling nights, dances, games, artistic performance evenings and meetings to work on collaborative initiatives or share experiences.

In an effort to consolidate the AAR process (parent permission forms are referred to as AARs) for parents, we are asking that all parents who wish to allow their children to participate in any COSSOT events, complete this AAR, which indicates that you agree to allow your child to participate should they sign up.

To go directly to the parent permission form (AAR), click on this link.
