UPPER SCHOOL
Thank you for your donations!
Thank you all so much for your donations to the Canadian Red Cross for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. We have a terrific response from the Havergal community but the need is still great. The opportunity to donate remains open through the end of next week, so if you’ve been wanting to contribute but haven’t had the time, now is your chance. Every dollar counts and goes a long way. Here is the link to donate to the Red Cross. Thank you!
We acknowledge the inspired initiative of Lara U, and her team: Claire R, Hana L, Madison C, Isabela DS, Natalie M, Daphne Y, Noor K, Natalie J, Jessica DS, Asiya M, Amber U, Tara P, Su T, Sofia AH, Lulu Z, Tiana Z, Sadie W, Paula B.
Dropping things off for you daughter?
Just off the Rotunda, in the small room to the left of the Brenda Robson Hall, is a cabinet where you may leave things forgotten at home for your daughter to pick up. We clean out the cabinet every Friday at 4 pm. Items that are not organic and will not spoil will be put in The Pound. Anything containing food will be thrown out. If you want your containers to come home please ask your daughter to bring them home.

SENIOR SCHOOL
Grade 10 Parents: Literacy Test Practice – Wednesday, March 8 – 8:30 AM
On Wednesday, March 8, Grade 10 students will be completing a practice of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) during Advisory Time. They will be instructed to download and install the test software from the Veracross Student Portal prior to the practice. If a student is away they are able to download the test on their own and instructions will be emailed to them. The actual OSSLT will be written the morning of Tuesday, March 28. All students must pass this literacy test in order to graduate from an Ontario High School. More information will be sent directly to all Grade 10 parents in an email.
Senior Music Night – Wednesday, March, March 8 – 7:00 PM
Our Senior School music night will feature Grade 9 Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Senior Choir, and Chamber Choir. We hope to see you all there to support our amazing musicians.
A Reminder of Graduation Requirements – OSSLT & Community Service Hours
It is important for parents and students to understand that the OSSLT and Community Service Hours are graduation requirements that need to be completed in order for students to receive their OSSD. Students must follow the instructions and participate in the OSSLT practice sessions in order to be prepared and set up for success for their OSSLT test day. Moreover, Community Service Hours must be completed during high school, recorded on Veracross and submitted to the Forum for Change Office in the Resource Centre in order for students to be eligible to graduate. March Break is a great time for students to volunteer in organizations and opportunities that they are passionate about.
