Preparing for the 2024-25 School Year

“Back to School” information for the 2024-2025 school year will be communicated to families in two summer messages. The first message will be sent by email on Wednesday, July 3 and the second message will be sent on Wednesday, August 21.

Device Policy

As we communicated on May 16,  Havergal’s Digital Device Policy is being reviewed. Updates for the 2024-2025 school year will be communicated in the summer message so that all families, including over 70 new families, will receive it.  We have taken time to consult students, parents, and faculty in order to develop something that is appropriate for Havergal students.

We encourage all families to listen, watch or read information on device use. This episode of The Harvard Edcast provides ideas for device usage over the summer. The book Stolen Focus, explores the ways in which technology is changing the way we think, work, and interact, and offers practical advice on how to reclaim our attention and focus in a world of distractions.

Batner Books

Havergal is coordinating with Batner Books to offer families a convenient option for purchasing school texts for the 2024-25 school year. Batner welcomes you with this letter, and you can access the Havergal text list here. This information will also be shared in “Back to School” communication over the summer.

  • Morning exams begin at 9AM, and afternoon exams at 1PM; the standard time for these exams is 90 minutes, and they will be written in the Double Gym.
  • Students with learning accommodations will write their exams starting at the same time (9AM or 1PM), in B65/66.
  • Students should arrive at school 15 minutes before their exam start time.
  • The exam schedule is available here; student exam instructions (reviewed in Science and Math classes) are here.
